Data Protection and Privacy Statement
This page explains our policy regarding the personal information we collect about you when using the Fieldwork Education, http://www.fieldworkeducation.co.uk website.
- 1. DATA RELATING TO THIRD PARTIES (INCLUDING PUPILS):
- 1.1. You acknowledge that by accessing the information and data held on our site (or which is accessible through it) you will be accessing personal information relating to other people, including in particular minors. Some such information may constitute sensitive personal data for the purposes of the Data Protection Act 1998.
- 1.2. You undertake only to access and/or use any information and data referred to in clause 1.1 to the extent permitted by:
- 1.2.1. the authority granted by the Institution to you to do so; and
- 1.2.2. the consent granted to the Institution in writing by the person to whom the information and data relates, and/or their parent or guardian (where appropriate), but subject to any objection against such access or use from the data subject (or their parent or guardian where appropriate); and
- 1.2.3. the Data Protection Act 1998 (and any analogous or applicable legislation relating a similar subject matter in any relevant jurisdiction).
- 1.3. Any other use of any information or data referred to in clause 1.1 by you, or any person authorized by you or to whom you disclose such information or data is strictly prohibited.
- 2. DATA RELATING TO YOU:
- 2.1. We may collect and process personal information about you in accordance with our privacy policy as set out below. By using our site, you consent to such processing and you warrant that all data provided by you is accurate.
- 2.2. We may collect information that you provide by filling in forms on our site. This includes information provided at the time of registering to use our site, subscribing to our service, posting material or requesting further services. We may also ask you for information when you enter any competitions or promotions and when you report a problem with our site. If you contact us, we may keep a record of that correspondence. We may also ask you to complete surveys that we use for research purposes, although you do not have to respond to them. We may collect details of transactions you carry out through our site and details of your visits to our site including, but not limited to, traffic data, location data, weblogs and other communication data, whether this is required for our own billing purposes or otherwise and the resources that you access.
- 2.3. We may obtain information about your general internet usage by using a cookie file which is stored on the hard drive of your computer. Cookies contain information that is transferred to your computer's hard drive. They help us to improve our site and to deliver a better and more personalised service. You may refuse to accept cookies by activating the setting on your browser which allows you to refuse the setting of cookies. However, if you select this setting you may be unable to access certain parts of our site. Unless you have adjusted your browser setting so that it will refuse cookies, our system will issue cookies when you log on to our site.
- 2.4. This site logs all requests to the system. This is done for the purpose of security to prevent misuse of the system. The site logs your IP address which is automatically recognised by the web server.
- 2.5. We may use information held about you in the following ways: to ensure that content from our site is presented in the most effective manner for you and for your computer; to provide you with information, products or services that you request from us or which we feel may interest you, where you have consented to be contacted for such purposes; to carry out our obligations arising from any contracts entered into between you and us; to allow you to participate in interactive features of our service, when you choose to do so; to notify you about changes to our service; to enable us to analyse our service and provide a service more tailored to your personal details. We may also use or disclose personal data if we believe, in good faith, that such use or disclosure is necessary to comply with any applicable law, to enforce or apply these terms and conditions, or to protect our property, rights or safety, or of our sites users or any other person.

We may disclose your personal information to any member of our group, which means our subsidiaries, our ultimate holding company and its subsidiaries, as defined in section 736 of the UK Companies Act 1985, and such data may be transferred to a destination outside the European Economic Area ("EEA").

We may disclose your personal information to third parties: in the event that we sell or buy any business or assets, in which case we may disclose your personal data to the prospective seller or buyer of such business or assets; or if we are under a duty to disclose or share your personal data in order to comply with any legal obligation, or in order to enforce or apply these terms and other agreements; or to protect the rights, property, or safety of us, our customers, or others. This includes exchanging information with other companies and organisations for the purposes of fraud protection and credit risk reduction.
- 2.8. Upon written request to us (by email to: L.Jobling@fieldworkeducation.co.uk) we will disclose details of your personal data held by us. If need be, you may then place a written request for the correction of any inaccurate data or the deletion of data that is demonstrably no longer needed.
